Ansel Adams was born on February 20th, 1902 in San Francisco to Charles Hitchcock Adams and Olive Bray Adams. When he was four years old the 1906 San Francisco earthquake struck. although he was unharmed in the earthquake, an aftershock sent him face first into a garden wall. He broke his nose and it has been crooked ever since. Adams is most well known for his f=black and white landscape photos of Yosemite National Park. His photography career lasted for sixty years until he died from cardiovascular disease on April 22nd, 1984 at the age of 82.
