Final Photographer Statement
I am a student of photography. This is my second photography class that I have taken, first a took digital photography and I have just finished my semester in basic photography (which seems backwards). In my digital class, well first I didn't have he best camera, so I thought that I couldn't take nice photos, but In that class I just tried to get things done; I wasn't very meticulous about my photos and I just wanted to get things in on time, and at the end of the semester I was not proud of my work. This semester I decided that at the end of the class I wanted t be proud of what I have done, and for the most part I am. Of course there are improvements that could be made, there is always room for improvement, but for the most part I like my work. Working with film has taught me to really think about the photos that I'm taking, since in a roll of film there are only twenty-fourish photos. Working in the dark room and constantly messing up my prints as taught me patience, good things take time . . . it also taught me to watch where I'm going in the dark. I have discovered that I really enjoy photography, it's a fun, interesting way to express myself and I hope to continue to improve whether I pursue amateur digital photography, film photography (which I have a new love and appreciation for), or the new craze of "iPhoneography." Lastly, to my teacher, Mr. T, I admire your passion for photography and other art forms, thank you for teaching me so much.
